This summer, I got to go to Portland for a week to complete my 6-month training in Energy Healing. I knew it would be an intense 7 days of copious amounts of new information. I walked away after the week had finished with even more than I could have imagined…
Let me back up a little…. I signed up for a practitioner program with Energy Healing Institute last year fueled by the desire to help people heal in different ways using energy. I had seen first hand how beneficial energy and frequency healing had been in my own life from dealing with Lyme disease and I knew I wanted to be help others the way I had been helped. I do feel I am an intuitive, aware person on some levels, but I also knew there was and is room for growth and expansion.
Our small class of 9 people met over the phone about every week since March, starting to learn how to engage in our energetic and intuitive bodies. I didn’t feel like I was getting ‘it’ or really successfully soaking in all the information. But I had grace with myself and pressed on.
I arrived in Portland excited, nervous, and honestly expecting a mini breakdown at some point during the week of classes knowing how intensive it all was going to be. The first 4 days I went home to our homey airbnb that I shared some wonderful classmates completely drained and in a haze. The advanced energy protocols we learned we practiced on each other in order to feel the actuality and specificity of the healing work. I didn’t expect to have mounds of energy after long days of classes, but I thought I would at least have enough to hit up the local yoga establishments. Yea that didn’t happen…
We learned hands-on, simple, yet effective ways to clear, balance, and infuse energy for people who are stuck, blocked, and discouraged with the habits and patterns that continue to keep them where they are. We’ve been practicing some of this stuff on our own but now was able to take it a step further and practice it on our fellow classmates. Doing the work for yourself and continuing to evolve is essential for being an energy healer. Why could I expect and hope for change for my clients when I wasn’t applying these principles on a daily basis myself?
Some of the material we learned very much challenged my spiritual beliefs and Christian upbringing. I’ve been on a path of seeing God and experiencing him in a new Light for quite some time. I was raised by very loving, authentic Christian parents, but I knew there was certainly room for a shedding of limiting beliefs and an embracing of a more expansive view of God. It’s still scary for me to embrace concepts (such as past lives) that I wasn’t taught. I had a mini-breakdown/crisis of faith outside of class in one of Portland’s beautiful parks one evening that helped me shed some of that fear of expanding and embracing more of who God and Energy and Time and Space could and does look like.
By the end of the week, I felt lighter and more energized, the opposite of what I anticipated to feel. I walked away with so much excitement to have specific tools to help people’s emotional and physical bodies in new ways. My mind was a bit blown by the possibilities and expansiveness of Energy. I left feeling grateful for having connected with such caring and wonderful people and encouraged to have gained such pertinent and applicable information and healing practices.
I leave for Peru this week. I have a longing to engage with Energy more and more and I feel Peru will meet and fuel this desire of mine. I’m stoked to share more with you my experiences and be able to assist your own healing further with energy healing practices.
Be well my friends. See you on the other side!
